4th place back slash

4th place round 1 at bartow for backslash, driven by team super monkey.
First time ever on onroad driving, I thought the course was suppose to
be offroad. Couldn't tell due to concrete and rocks all over the course.
The lack of clay didn't help. Even saw people pushing the clay off the
track with brooms. Some clay and the backslash could have had some grip.
Was faster then everyone down the short straight away. Then the big rain
came and it was over for the evening. Even saw an alligator doing 30mph
down the road going on the wrong side of the road... thanks terrance for
another great weekend of racing...

Nothing to post, never used my RC this month. May use them friday but I
doubt it.
Terrance brought home so wins for team spring rollz.
Trying to save up for a trailer to get team super monkey more legit in

Didn't bump to the A main race, but I think I have the wing on securely

Try to paint ur spektrum radio. Half of it is yellow, but it looks like
crapola. Was going with a monkey banana theme of yellow.

No back slash racing today

Looks like it was too much rain today for rc racing. Really wanted to
get my back slash up and running. Probably can't race next week due to
work schedule.

Back slash update

At Lake Park to test back slash, may wait until its not all muddy and
rainy to do. May try a 1/8 scale gas buggy today. Need screws to mount
the wing properly.

Back Slash update

Leaving the body black with clear squares. It looks really good for my first paint job.

Back slash update

Trimmed body, painted first coat and layer black. Will have yellow
squares all over body. Rather easy to paint a body. Body fits the slash
nicely, have to trim a few items and it will be really ready to go. I am
thinking of keeping back and front bumpers to protect me from the 1/8
buggy racers.

Monkey made A main

Slash monkey qualified 7th in the A main. No b or c mains, straight A
main. Started good was in 2nd and 3rd for a while. Then broke a part
fixed it, and got back in race. Finished 7th, so I didn't finish last.

Cleaned the trucks

I cleaned the gas truck today, removed the receiver, and sprayed it down
with purple power, attempted to remove the fuel tank, wasn't as easy as
it looked so I gave up. Made sure the truck would restart, was difficult
but I think that was from 3 people using it on Friday. Found a new
easier way to start the truck. Start box, then drop truck on the motor.
Started up after a few seconds of starter box recharging.

Electric 1/8 Scale Slash

Thinking about converting my slash to 1/8 backslash.
Will cost about $66 in parts and shipping. Should be allowed to race in the 1/8 gas buggy class.

Interesting idea

I am thinking of buying 2 of those walkie talk radios. One for my car,
one for drivers stand. That way I can alert the turn marshals to flip my
car over!!

Kiss my slash

I can now chase down anyone with a lead. Brushless is the wave of the
future. Oh must have a good lipo to go with it. Just need to avoid turn
marshals, and camera guys. Heck of a mechanic I have, fixed a blown
shock before the B main race. Was catching the bump of spot before a
turn marshal kid picked up car and stared at it. Better luck not
crashing next week.

I may be retiring from racing, or maybe just doing some relaxing. Its
really upsetting me that people can not turn marshal properly. its
really not rocket science, I just don't understand it.

Farmers Friday Night Slash Mod Results

Monkey mobile was modded and has 1/8 tires on the rear now.
Had a high speed motor in it. Will need a brushless motor and esc by friday hopefully.
Monkey mobile lost a shock connector and did not finish the main race.

1st place goes to the monkey in 1/10 gas truck
Monkey Mobile now runs readily available 25% byrons nitro mix.

Florida State Nitro Series

Monkey should have entered the Gas Truck class, would have made the B main race. During B main race, only 2 people started. One guy, my arch nemesis Chuck Redding broke, so I would have made the A main race no problem. Half the A main racers did not even start the Race, so Monkey could finished near the top in theory!!

State Race This Weekend

Will be running the concession stand this weekend for the Florida State Nitro Rc Series.

Gas Truck Retirement

Running very low of the 20% nitro fuel that is the only type that works in my gas truck. Did see Traxxas had a blue fuel mixture that was 20% as well at hobbyclown.

Mud Wars Results

Mud 1 Monkey Mobile 0. Track was a tad muddy with a few puddles and lots of mud. Sure was fun until I had the slipper come loose. I did manage to fix it 2 days later after I found a great set of tools at the wholesale tool store on adamo drive.

Avon park slash

Have to move all my stuff from storage then I will be on my way to Avon
park via Ellenton, FL

New track shoes

Finally finished fixing my new rc track shoes. Got the front of the
cleats successfully removed. Need to trim some foam down to make it
even, but as of right now they work. Best $10 shoes I ever bought.

Avon Park 2/1/09 Slash Shoot Out

Getting my stuff ready, cut off excess wires from the computer power supply to make it look nicer. Rewired the power wires and heat shrink tubed it. Used the connector I cut off and jammed the positive and negative wires into it, so they dont flop around and accidentally touch each other.

New track shoes

Was in orlando and found a new pair of shoes to wear at the tracks.
Won't matter if they get all dirty because they were a mere $10 at the
nike outlet store.

Electric state A main results

Slash class I finished 17th out of 20, started in last place, there was
not enough room on drivers stand for 20 people, so monkey had to stand
on the handicap ramp section, was a blind spot on track, but lots of
room to move around. Was quite entertaining for everyone to watch, shame
I couldn't film and race at same time!!

Monkey made the A main race in slash class at the florida state electric
series

Was 9th in 2nd round, so I made the C main, will only need to beat 2
people in the C main to make the B main

Announcer quote of the day!!

The announcer says during the race, is that a monkey on the front of the
truck!!

This is suppose to be stock slash but we can not use reverse because 1
guy didn't set it up in his controller, and then I sat numerous times
waiting for turn marshals, hopefully round 2 will be better

Monkey got 3rd place in slash at avon park. Broke the opposite side part
that he broke last week at farmers. Monkey tried to help terrance by
putting 1st place guy into a pipe. Didn't work, but terrance did get 2nd
place.

Monkey B Main Race

Wow, was in 3rd place for the first 3 laps then downhill from there. Had a rear hub break, but the Monkey Mobile wanted to keep going, with just 3 wheels. Where was the video camera for that!!!

Monkey changed speed controls, not once, but 3 times today, all made monkey slash die in last few minutes of race. Main race monkey used a borrowed battery from hitmen and the monkey did not die! So monkey needs a new battery maybe, who knows.
