Friday Results

Monkey finished 4th place in main race. Was 2nd in 1st qualifier, and 4th in 2nd qualifier.

Mechanic Terrance was there for tech support and helping making the power supply for monkeys lipo charger.

Due to a theft at Terrance house, Team Spring Rollz is down to 1 Slash to race with until the police finish the search for all of his cars and trucks.

Terrance while using Monkey's Slash, got 2nd place in his First Slash Race. Monkeys fur didn't keep him warm enough to stay. As an added Bonus, Charlie Brown sold his mod slash to Team Spring Rollz, so now Terrance and Monkey have slashes. We dominated the buggy class, we dominated the gas class, we dominated Stadium truck, now Slashes, look out.

Monkey got a slash, after selling his duratrax buggy, duratrax stadium truck. Monkey also had to sell his 3rd spektrum receiver to get even closer to the total. Monkey held 1st place in his first Slash race for the 1st lap. After that it was downhill. But the monkey was never slow or steady. He had a wonderful time. Due to weather being so cold, and monkey leaving his sweatshirt at home, Monkey did not stay for the Main race.

Gas Trucks and Slashes oh My!!!

Monkey is selling his stadium truck and buggy to the RC Make a Wish Foundation. In return a Slash will almost be with in reach. If Greg has one at Farmers Friday, Monkey maybe able to get one.

Friday Farmers Results

Gas truck Terrance got 2nd place to Rocketman, and Monkey with troubles got 3rd place.1/10 2wd electric buggy was bad for monkey, going faster then slow and steady broke a pinion arm, then a rear axle rod. Terrance got 4th due to a certain other racer using a wrong way lane to pass everyone. That should move Terrance into 2nd securely ahead of my 3rd place, as long as I can fix my axle in 2wd electric buggy I will beat Gary no problem

Yes folks, monkey beat rocketman when he decided to try to enter in 1/10 gas class last night. Shame he doesn't have a great mechanic like Terrance.

If Gough is still broke tomorrow evening, then Monkey will be in 2nd place in gas truck for sure without any standings being corrected.

Shumacher Test Buggy Defeated

Remember the videos from last week of the super secret shumacher test buggy?
Its 4wd but yet the monkey went faster then it did on a couple of different laps tonight. Monkey only uses a 2wd buggy. That my friends, proves the slow and steady method is better then any driver in a super fast car.

Team Springrollz Dominates

Team Springrollz dominates yet again at Farmers.
Super Monkey got 3rd in gas truck, and 3rd in electric 2wd buggy. Monkey broke a rear dog bone, that we thought we had fix the issue before the night began. Should be a simple fix, since it has been ghetto fixed before with a body clip. Terrance got 1st in 2wd buggy, and 2nd in gas truck. That should move us both up in the rankings for the Fall Series. Beyond belief, hitman donated his 2wd electric buggy to the make a wish RC program. Mister parsely was a no show tonight, so 2wd buggy electric podium places with have terrance and monkey on it.

Wow what a landing!!!

Ok, its friday night, almost didn't race at all. Last minute I went.
Left transponder at the house, duh.
Installed lipo battery in the truck,and made the first race because of a false start.
3rd lap, hit the bumps in front of pit lane, and went flying up a good 3 feet and landed on pit lane. Kept going and didn't stop.
The lipo made the monkey fast and unsteady instead of slow and steady. Monkey ordered a new motor, but chances are it will not be here in time for the race series that starts friday night.

Well Faye canceled racing friday, and came back again on saturday to stop more racing.
Still have to decide by 830am tomorrow to take computer job or keep dishwashing.

Size Doesn't Matter Again

Terrance got 2nd place in Monster truck, since he was the only gas truck. Monster trucks are suppose to be faster then gas trucks, but Terrance always proves size doesn't matter :) He also got 3rd in the qualifiers.

Monkey takes 3rd place due to springrollz teammate and mechanic Terrance flaming out in the main race.

Monkey takes 2nd in Gas Truck

Monkey took 2nd in 1st qualifier, and finished 2nd in the main gas truck race. Was an 8 minute race, first time ever had to pit. Truck stalled and I managed to get it up and running again, and still finish 2nd. Some how gough was not even on the track for the last 3 minutes and still beat me at the finish. We both had 9 laps, but he did his 9 faster.


Got my secret weapon in tonight, and boy did it make the evader go faster then ever in the electric truck race. Broke too many parts, but the truck has potential now.

Evader truck is in the shop with the mechanic terrance, hopefully it will be ready next weekend

Packing for weekend

Got my electric truck ready to go with my super secret weapon waiting for me.
Also have my gas truck ready to race as well.

I can not wait till Friday for off road, Saturday for dirt oval if its not raining, and Sunday for asphalt racing if its not raining.

rc track visits

Well next week I am off work with out pay, so each day I am going to
visit a different rc track and just have some fun. Too bad no one else
will be there, so its just gonna be me and the bugs and the 200 degree
sun

Monkey Should Have

Monkey should have entered the nitro regionals. There was not even 8 people who entered the gas truck class.

Next year, Monkey will make it to the entire series and he will enter each race no matter what!! Well thats the monkeys goals.

Even rain does not stop

Terrance the mechanic got top qualifier in gas truck, and 1st place in gas truck main race. There was rain, rain, and he kept going.

Monkey how ever sat at lake park from 11am to 630pm and made only $30, it did not rain there. On trip home it rained like a monsoon and every street headed home had rivers flowing down the sides, or covering the entire roadway.

No more concessions, took day off to run a food stand and there was hardly a soul there

Monkey 25/26 Race Location

Monkey will be at Lake Park for the Regional Nitro Races.
Monkey will not be racing, but he will be serving hot dogs and sodas Friday.
Saturday Monkey will be assisting in serving other foods.

Used dremel again today to hollow out a tool box to make a box for my RC batteries.
Saved myself $6 to $10, and with gas at the cost it is thats a good savings.

Where is the Monkey this weekend?

The Monkey will be at Farmers Friday with his gas truck. Saturday morning Monkey will be at Lil Dover with his electric truck or buggy. Saturday afternoon Monkey will be at Farmers with the electric truck or buggy. Sunday Monkey will be at Lake Park with gas truck.

Dremel Hazards

Well never do anything with a dremel without a dust mask.
After cutting my new FIRESTORM body from its mold,
I went to eat and discovered a ball of something making it way down my throat.
After a few hours it moved down past the wind pipe until this moring when it made it to my intestines.

All is fine now, so remember kids, wear a dust mask!!!

WOW $35 buys alot of RC

Went to Hobbytown today, found a new body for my HPI Nitro Firestorm, and found a bunch of clearanced Duratrax Evader Stadium Trucks parts. I am trying to decide if I should paint the body or just apply the stickers.

The great debate

I can not decide what to do with my $100 extra I made this weekend.

Should I

A. Trade in a video game system and buy the newer version.

B. Save it for a rainy day.

C. Buy better tools for RC racing

D. Buy a trailer thats for sale.

E. Should I save another week and get a trailer hitch so that the Trailer could be used.

F. Just save up about $400 and get a down payment on a truck, but with todays gas prices I do not know.

FARMERS STATE RACE RESULTS

Monkey did not race.
Mechanic Terrance and member of Spring Rollz Concession finished 7th in the B main.
Fellow racer Gough finished 3 seconds from making it to the A main.
Lots of Farmers racers seemed to do good at the State Races.
Can not wait until the Electric Race this Weekend!!

The tent is all setup for this weekends state race. Taking my 4 RC airplanes, and RC helicopter tomorrow and have a field day with it. Debating whether to take my RC boat for the little pond.

I can not wait to see all the RC racing Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Hope to watch many races and learn some new tricks. I will have to run a concession stand on Sunday, can not wait to sell monkey burgers and monkey fries!!!

Monkey didn't make the main race

Monkey had issues all day with the gas truck, practice stalled, 1st qualifier bad turn marshalling, 2nd qualifier, did not start on time due to starting the truck issues, then stalled twice. Seems to be issue when trying to go fast, works fine when i just idle around the track, only when trying to move faster then slower. Then due to sponsor becoming ill, had to go home before main race

First Race Lake Park 2nd Place Monkey!!!!

My first race at Lake Park, came in 2nd place in main race. Finished with a broken front wheel, but somehow managed to finish. Did not even need to pit and refill the tank.
Thanks to my mechanic "Terrance"and his starter box in the main race, mine somehow took a crap in between 2nd q and the main race!!! Been repaired thanks to Gough.

Plan to race my 1/10 Gas truck, and my 1/10 Elec buggy Sunday. Have never turned marshalled at Lake Park so we will see how that goes.

Monkeying Around

Fixed the the starter box issue, have to push down the front of the truck and push throttle at same time, after a few minutes it starts. Once started it is easy to keep running. Mechanic Terrance has it running great!!

MONKEY WINS GAS TRUCK RACE

Monkey won his 2nd gas truck race. His mechanic Terrance and fellow sponsored driver of Spring Rollz Concessions came in 2nd.

2nd week in a Row a 1-2 finish for Team Spring Rollz.

If not for the cool calm mechanic Terrance, Monkey would not have even made the first race. Monkey is having some issues with the starter box, and will be practicing some more to see what the issue is.

I have decided, that I need many boxes, but I only need to take certain boxes on certain days.
So I need to make one universal box that works for every car or truck.
Then a specialty box for each car or truck.
That will cut down on what I need on a certain day.

New gas Truck

It was so easy to start, I will be racing the former Fred the Hitmans Firestorm this Friday, and hopefully I will get it to work at Lil Dover on Saturday too.

Just have to fix the steering issues, the steering is reversed in the spektrum!!

Picked up 3 new rolls of electrical tape. My one roll was getting low. Do not know why I felt the need to buy 3 rolls. I now have 170 feet of tape.
Also purchased a lighter to melt the shrink tubes for electrical connections.
I found a sunwa multimeter tester. Hopefully my mechanic will inform me how to use it.
I got a pair of gloves for turn marshal duty.
There is also a new utility knife, all I need to do now is find a can or bottle of bug spray.

Saturday Farmers Announcer

Did not race but got more time to learn how to run a Race.
Really need to enclose the announcers booth and keep the mean people away.
A window view would be great too, but who am I?

Farmers Friday Results

Did not come in 1st, but did not come in Last. Many thanks to sparky and eric for breaking their Trucks to make sure I did not finish in last. For some strange reason, I do better on the track before it is watered. I guess in desert conditions I would do alot better.

Bad first Dirt Oval Race

With the threat of Rain, I became a track member and entered my first race. Was the only electric racer, and was put into the gas super stock class.

Never made it past the starting line, my spur gear was slipping.

The gas was winning until on the last lap it crashed into the wall.

Then it was raining so that was the last race of the day.

New Gas Truck

Got a Firestorm from the Hitman. Came with a crap load of other stuff, starter box, roto start drill starter, radio and receiver. Should be operational Friday if I am lucky. Other wise will be running my electric buggy and truck.

Got 1/18 Mini T

I got a 1/18 mini t from Mike, and it came with 2 bodies. Tried to use one of the bodies for the 1/18 slider, but it doesnt fit right.

Gonna need to either get a radio for it, or figure out why the radio is only making it turn right and turns off.

Also need to get some tires as well and the battery pack.

1/18 Slider Repaired

Just finished figuring out how to get my steering servo installed. It now turns left and right, its not 100% right, but good enough for racing.

After blowing up my mini ESC, I installed a full size ESC and its ready to go.

Just waiting on my battery bar to come in, and I need to order a new slipper gear!!

1/18 Slider now 100%

My mini RC 1/18 Slider is now 100% operational. Robbie fixed the steering servo and its running great, got my new spur gear installed, its fast as hella.
Just need to get off road tires and a body and its ready to go.

Blew up my slider ESC

Blew up my ESC for my Losi Slider.
Never seen a fireball that was so green! Going to install install a full size 1/10 ESC and see if it works.

Team Losi 1/18 Mini Slider

Found my 1/18 car finally. Found it in a thrift store. Need to get a servo for it, already have the missing ESC and Receiver.

Nitro Truck not ready

Engine was ready to go, but mechanic felt it was not race ready yet.
Also while being the race anouncer, my mechanic parked the truck in a rough neighborhood, the tires and some steering arms were removed by some Vandals!!! LOL

Nitro Truck is ready

My mechanic Terrance has my duratrax nitro evader stadium truck is up and running.
Our first race will be Friday at Farmers Hobby Shop and Raceway!!

No transponders in stock

Farmers did not have any transponders today when I had a chance to stop by. Will have to wait for another pay check now.

AMB Transponder Friday

Hopefully Farmers Hobby shop has a Transponder for sale this Friday. Finally have the money saved for one.

Cute 1/18 truck or buggy

Saw some cute little RC buggy or Trucks today at the State Races.
No way am I gonna buy their $160 models, I think I saw toy ones at Walmart for $50, and I am hoping they are 1/18 and gonna enter those next time I see a race.

I have a spare battery pack and a ESC for one that came of a Duratrax Vendetta.

Got Spektrum?

No more fear of radio interefence, we finally have our Spektrum dx3 Radio and 2 receivers. Plan to get at least one 1 receiver, so that we do not have to share 1 receiver between the electric truck and electric buggy!!
Last thing on our list is a AMB Transponder

Preparing for going Oval

Preparing to start racing in a oval shape. Lil Dover here I come

Down to 3 boxes

I finally have gotten my race gear that is needed for each race down to 3 boxes.
1 30 gallon storage container, 1 tool box that also has a small tool box, batteries, and battery chargers, 1 box with my parts that are in a organizer, spare tires, gallon of fuel bottle, fuel refill bottle, buggy and truck bodies, and brushes for cleaning tires etc.

Now if I could remove the spare buggy, spare truck, I may be able to get down to 1 box and a tool box!!

Nitro Evader Trials

Thanks to my mechanic, we got the Evader running for a few minutes, but then quickly discovered the engine was no good. The cheapness of the engine, made it possible for the metals to come apart in the piston sleeve. Have no fear tho, my mechanic has acquired a new engine and it should be up and running before March for Farmers.
We have acquired a fuel bottle, and a little bit of gas to get me up and going.
Also transformed it from a BX buggy to a ST truck. All parts are installed, with left over parts, we now have a 3rd Electric Buggy!

Nitro Has Arrived

My nitro duratrax evader bx has arrived. Will need to get a fuel bottle, a bottle of fuel, and a few more parts.

Should be simple to make it into a stadium truck with a few spare parts I already have!!

Here I come nitro series!!!

Informal Racing Friday

Going to be taking my Nitro Evader for its first run at the informal racing at farmers hobby shop and RC raceway Friday night.

Hopefully its nice and easy and it actually works.

Winternationals Results

Came in 4th place in the mains. Too many crashes caused the downfall.

Hurricane Lake Park

Look out Hurricane Raceway!!!, the "Slow and Steady" Team Monkey Racing is coming. After our success at Farmers Raceway, we are going to Lake Park for the month of February. Our first race is this Sunday, so here we come!

Duratrax BX Nitro

Ordered my first NITRO RC buggy today. Going to convert it to a ST nitro with some simple modifications.

Saturday farmers race

Racing was canceled again due to weather. Winter series is over and I have
finished in 3rd for electric truck and 7th for electric buggy

No dirt oval

Saturday no racing on dirt oval in lil dover. Track was too wet!

No race friday

Due to bad weather there was no racing. Still 3rd place in electric
stadium truck series

NEW Track to Race

Going to be racing on the dirt oval circuit. My first race is Saturday the 19th at LIL DOVER 2.
If 3 other people show up with electric stadium truck, we will have a race, otherwise, I will be sitting there by myself.

Friday Results

Installed my Tbone racing bumpers and also got my diff rebuild kit from Paisley, and my mechanic Terrance installed it. First Qualifier was going good until my turn arm disconnected, I snapped it back on and kept going.
After the race had to readjust the servo screw, and Terrance adjusted the diff. This proved bad in the 2nd qualifier, the truck had no power and I somehow lost 4 screws that were holding my front bumper on.

After the 2nd qualifier the diff was readjusted and the bumper rettached. Thinking all was well I waited for the main race.

Went to check in and my truck had no movement. With a quick fix terrance got it running in just the knick of time, but it was not a full fix. The truck moved but slowly, only had to finish one lap to score points for the series. Well would you believe it, it made the 1st lap, and even finished the race. I went slow and steady, had some trouble going up hills, but the turn marshals helped push it up. 6 people started the race, but only 3 were still running when the race was over. Monkey was still going!!!!

Before you buy new RC

Check your box of parts before you buy a new car or truck. I bought a roller for parts, and found a shoe box of old parts and it had the part I needed inside of it!

So we now have 2 duratrax evader bx electric buggies for racing, and 2 duratrax evader st electric stadium trucks.

Saturday Results

Came in last place in the main race, was the first race in the winter series I was able to compete in the buggy class.

Fred loaned me a more powerful battery in the main race, but the rear end had no traction at all, even after I changed tires before the main race.

Now standing in 6th place in the winter series for buggy.

Friday Results

Ran the Electric Stadium Truck. My mechanic in the pits, got it up and running just in time!!
After finding an electrical issue, switched everything over to DEANS plugs and was going good until the battery kept disconnecting. Did not finish the race but got 1 or 2 laps completed. Still in 3rd place in the winter series somehow!!!!

Helpful RC tips

When you clean your tires in a bucket of water, make sure you some how dry them off so 2 days later when mounting them, water does not pour out of them.

Cleaned my tires

Removed all the tires and scrubbed them all clean. They look brand new.
I can not wait until Friday, cold weather and races!!!
